Woman-Centred Collaborave Care

A new model of pregnancy care for Sunshine Coast women

What is woman-centred collaborative care?

This new model of pregnancy care offered by our clinic places you and your needs squarely at the
centre of your health care.

It enables our clinic to provide you with the ultimate level of personalised care throughout pregnancy,
birth and beyond.  We offer women both the companionship and familiarity of their own midwife,
plus the knowing and safety support of their trusted Obstetrician.

The ultimate aim is to provide the women with the best birth possible, and we believe in providing
unbiased information, acknowledging the woman to be the centre of all care and respecting and
supporting the decisions made by her.

Women are free to find the position of choice for birth, including in water both for labour and for birth,
and given guidance should birth become more challenging.

What are the main benefits?

Our goal is to support the miracle of life, with only the intervention required,
in an environment of love and care.

Some of the benefits of collaborative care include :
•  Complete personalised care program
•  Respect for your right to make decisions
•  Consistent antenatal and postnatal care
•  Reduction of anxiety and stress
•  Lower risk of postnatal depression
•  Being in control of your birth environment
•  A safe, supportive, respectful environment
•  Improved bond with baby

We have always been passionate about putting our mums in the centre of care
with all the love and respect they deserve.

We are excited to offer this service and are proud to be the first and only medical
practice so far to implement it at The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital.
